Hiroshima bombing

By matthew smith | Saturday, May 24, 2008

Well this is a hard subject to write about I have been to Hiroshima peace park only one time in my life about 11 years ago. So here is my experience.

As I wondered around the park I noticed that there was deep silence and no people. The sounds of the city were shut out giving people the chance to think deeply and almost feel what had happened here. As I came to the dome. I remember feeling a great sadness come over me, it was terrifying to think that some one could do this to another human. I could Imagen myself there with people enjoying their everyday life, until that fateful moment, and feel the fear left behind in the old dome. As I continued on to the peace bell I arrived at 8:13 and waited to ring the bell at 8:15am. After this I felt a little better and continued on to the museum.

As I wondered around I felt so sad from what I saw , watches stoped at 8:15 models of children burned and melting with skin hanging off their bodies. This was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I could feel tears forming in my eyes and a deep sickness inside of me. The amount of destruction that was caused and pain people went through after the bomb was horrible.

So I battled through the museum and came out with the images ingrained into my brain, that I will never forget, and hope that this will not happen again to any country however bad or good, right or wrong they are. If you have the time I really recomend going there.
